4 CITY teams in Provincial Finals. 2 teams claim gold, 2 teams claim silver!
The 2014 summer season came to a close this weekend with 4 teams competing in Provincial Play-offs.
U14 T1development girls-GOLD
After defeating #1 ranked XFC 3-1 in the semi-final, the girls claimed gold on Sunday with a 1-0 victory over Suburban. Maureen O`Brien scored the only goal of the game!
U14 T1development boys-SILVER
An epic semi-final saw the boys come from 2-0 behind to claim victory on penalties against # 1 ranked XFC. Andrew Keating and Brandon Phelps had the goals. The boys couldn't repeat their heroics in Sunday's final, falling 2-0 to South Shore
U14 T1 boys-SILVER
Saturday's semi final ended in a 2-1 victory against Dunbrack in a game that had it all. Ayoub Al Arabi's penalty and Aiden John's header gave CITY a 2-0 lead before Dunbrack,despite being down a man, pulled a goal back.
Sunday's final was equally tense with CITY losing a man before the end of regular time. Depite playing down for over 30 minutes the boys held out for a 0-0, before suffering defeat on penalty kicks
U16 T1 boys-GOLD
3 penalties, a red card and a 94th minute winner capped an exciting 3-2 semi final victory over Suburban. Jamie Matthews scored 2 penalty kicks, including the injury time winner, either side of Alex Black's strike.
The final saw us capture gold with a 4-0 win over Halifax County. Alex Black, Damon Robinson and Darien Rolle (2) had the goals.
