Alex Black finishes National tournament as top-goalscorer
Halifax City U16 striker Alex Black had a tournament to remember as he claimed the 'Golden Boot' for finishing the tournament as the top goalscorer.
The U16 boys claimed 4th place at the National tournament in Kamloops, BC, with Alex scoring 7 goals in 5 games.
Alex claimed a goal in the opening game against Winslow Royals (PEI), before scoring again against eventual champions Surrey United (BC). Remarkably this would prove to be the only goal that Surrey United conceded on their route to the gold medal. Alex then scored a a double vs St. John's (NL) before grabbing a hattrick in the final group game vs Codiac First Touch (NB).
In total, Alex scored 7 of Halifax City's 10 goals at the tournament. Congratulations to Alex on a fantastic tournament.
