U12T2a girls take GOLD Alt Tournament
2012-05-22U12 T2A - Bureau take Allt tournament title. Mia Kalogeropoulos takes MVP. Congratulations, Tanaka Akiyama, Cameron Bruce, Rebekah Bercovici, Emmery Bureau, Sophia Kienast, Angela Paraskevopolos, Hannah Lawrence, Grace Hammond, Alexus Millington, Jane MacDonald, Anna Pancura, Saorla Miller, Maiya Slaunwhite-Gallant,Charlotte Langley. Coaches Richard Bureau, Geoff Cannon and Carl Hayre.
After playing two excellent round robin games, City was tied in first for the Division Title with Scotia. It went to a shoot out. After the first five, there was a tie and it came down to the Golden Goal with 1 v 1. The eighth player Mia won the shoot out for City.
The semi finals were played Sunday afternoon under the sun against DU. After a tough game with lots of wind City prevailed 1-0.
The Championship game against County again was played with lots of wind. City scored to take an early lead. County came back to tie the game. Tough play by both times saw City put in a second goal to take the title!
It was a team effort all the way.
