HALIFAX CITY SOCCER CLUB – Director of Coaching (DOC)
This position is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned coach to play a pivotal role in leading our club and its programs to reflect our commitment to provide a quality soccer program for players of all ages
Reporting to the Club President, the Director of Coaching provides ongoing leadership in the planning, design, development, implementation and evaluation of the club’s programs.
Key Areas of Responsibility
Coordinate all coaching activities of the club
Direct and supervise club technical staff and volunteer coaches to ensure optimal delivery of every program
Ensure club related tasks are performed with set time and budget constraints
Interact and communicate with club membership and the general public on behalf of the club
Organize and implement coaching development programs for the min, youth and senior sectors of the club’s membership
Ensure that sufficient coaching resources are available to successfully run programs
Liaise with governing bodies at local, provincial and national level, the leagues and with other area clubs
Participate in the organization and implementation of special events on behalf of the club
Required Qualifications, Experience and Attributes
• Full Canadian B License, or equivalent
• Experience working with non profit volunteer boards
Proven record in soccer program design and implementation
Proven experience delivering high quality technical skills programs
Proven leadership skills and the ability to effect change in an organization
Excellent interpersonal skills
Effective oral and written communications skills
Strong presentation and facilitation skills
Experience playing soccer at a high level
High ethical and professional standards
A true passion for the game of soccer
A proven interest in working with players of all ages and abilities
Additional assets
A degree in sport and recreation, education or related experience
P. I. C. clearance is mandatory for club staff and officials
The Director of Coaching is a full member of Halifax City Soccer Club and will not be permitted to play for or participate in soccer activities with any other club in Nova Scotia
Compensation
Halifax City Soccer Club will offer a competitive remuneration package that will reflect the experience and credentials of the successful candidate
