University Round Up Week 3: Bearne and Hudder lead the way

Katherin Bearne wins Athlete of the week for uOttawa while Jensen Hudder scores 2 for Dal

Katherine Bearne claimed Athlete of the Week for the Ottawa GeeGees this weekend thanks to her contributions in a pair of 2-0 wins over the weekend. Bearne claimed an assist in the victory over Nipissing before claiming a goal and assist versus Laurentian University. The results mean uOttawa hold a perfect 9-0-0 record this season.
 
Jensen Hudder fired Dalhousie to their first victory of the AUS season scoring twice in the 3-0 victory over Moncton on Sunday. The Tigers bounced back from a 1-0 to UPEI on Saturday to beat Moncton with Hudder, who was the Premier Womens top scorer this summer, starting both games.

Paige Vincent played 90 minutes as UNB became the first team to claim points off of Acadia. City teammate and goalkeeper Rebecca Duda missed out on the game with a broken hand.
 
Celina Cavadini and Nicole Theriault both started for SMU as they fell 5-0 to UPEI on Sunday. Despite the scoreline SMU were in the game for the majority, trailing 1-0 until the 82nd minute before suffering a collapse.

Elise Brennan and Chloe Brennan had a split weekend for St FX, winning one and losing one in Antigonish. Both Brennan sisters started in the victory over Mount Alison and the defeat to Memorial.

South of the border Hannah Bruce features for Utah Valley as they overcame Grand Canyon University 2-1 in extra time. The victory takes the Wolverine to an overall record of 6-3-1.
 
Larissa White started both games for Alabama State University as they won 2-1 against Prairie View A & M and lost 1-0 against Texas Southern. Emily Fleming returned to the starting line up for the defeat in Texas.
 
Hannah Fleet claimed another assist in the 1-0 victory over USF in Florida on Thursday. Fleet was also in the starting line up in the double overtime 1-0 loss  to TCU.

Kallen Heenan claimed a goal in the 2-0 victory for Dalhousie over Moncton on Sunay. City teammates Freddy Bekkers, Jamie Matthews, Will Fitzgerald and Ryan Merlin also featured the victory, as well as the 0-0 draw with UPEI.

Darien Rolle and Alex Black suffered a narrow defeat as SMU lost 1-0 at home to UPEI. Both players are in their first year at Saint Mary’s and played a full 90 minutes.
 
Cooper Coats claimed another 2 goals as Acadia beat Moncton 5-0 on Saturday, taking his tally to 9 for the season. John Attenborough claimed the assist on Coats second goal, while Cory Cadeau, Sam Gillis, Sean Langille and Jack Nielsen all made the roster. All six players were on the roster again on Saturday as Acadia suffered a 1-0 defeat to UNB.

City’s St FX contingent had a successful week winning 8-0 against Mount Alison and 3-1 against Memorial in Antigonish. Liam Elbourne, Jack Eliot and Joe Edgerton all featured for the X Men as they claimed maximum points.
 
Rory McParland and Queens suffered a difficult weekend, losing 4-0 to Ryerson on Saturday. City teammates Cameron MacKinnon and Sam Abernethy were unavailable through injury.
 
Elsewhere in Ontario Dondrae Fells started in Carleton’s 5-0 destruction of Nipissing.
