May 24, 2016With the new construction at the Harbour East turf fields in Burnside, the CISL and HRM would like to make it clear that safety is our #1 priority.
We need to work together to ensure everyone’s safety and look forward to your cooperation.
The main issue you will find at the field is parking.

Please look over these points to understand and address the issue appropriately:
- Parking at the Harbour East Sport Fields facility was reduced this season to facilitate the adjacent construction of the new Dartmouth Multi-Pad facility.
- The loop will remain in place to allow for drop off/pick up and bus access.
- The parking lot has now been painted, there are 87 marked parking spaces and 3 accessible spaces available.
- There is no on-street parking permitted along Commodore Drive. Parking in bicycle lanes is not permitted as per Section 143(2) of the provincial Motor Vehicle Act.
- On-street parking will be allowed along John Savage Avenue, between Commodore Drive and Garland Avenue (effective May 18, 2016). Painted bicycle lanes along this section of John Savage Avenue have been temporarily removed pending the opening of the new Dartmouth Multi-Pad and parking lot later this year.
- If the parking lot is full, you are encouraged to park on John Savage Avenue, Eileen Stubbs Avenue or Spectacle Lake Drive where on street parking is permitted.
- Additional parking (approx. 100 additional spaces) will be provided off Commodore Drive July 1, 2016.
- Where possible participants/spectators are encouraged to car pool.
- Please adhere to the no idle zone along the perimeter of the fence.
- Game times will be staggered by the league to allow for more sufficient traffic flow through the parking lot.
- Do not park in parking lots of commercial tenants - vehicles may be booted or towed.
- Additional security staff will be on hand at the field this summer for parking assistance.
- Please remember to be respectful of field staff as they are trying to make the best of the situation for you.
